The application process consists of two stages. In Stage 1, you register an expression of interest, submit an online application upon invitation, attend a mandatory interview, and sign a performance agreement if successful. Stage 2 involves obtaining a temporary work permit support letter, establishing your business within 20 months, and submitting documentation for permanent residency nomination.

At Stage 1, entrepreneurs must demonstrate a viable business likely to provide economic benefits to Ontario, along with a minimum of 24 months of full-time business experience in the last 60 months. They must also meet prescribed personal net worth and investment criteria, among other requirements.

Yes, you can purchase an existing business. However, certain conditions must be met, including business-related visits, proof of continuous operation, and the utilization of personal investment for business improvement or expansion.

Ineligible business types include automated car wash businesses, pawnbrokers, and businesses involved in explicit material production or distribution, among others.
